Safe Ride Driver and Safe Ride Dispatcher

The Safe Ride Driver will drive a 10-14 passenger van on campus and city streets to safely transport students to their residence. This position will perform a prescribed pre-operational and post-operational safety maintenance check, as well as accumulate and record statistics for daily reports on passengers transported using an iPad. The Safe Ride Driver will operate a two-way radio system. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

The Safe Ride Dispatcher will use the telephone and a desktop computer, Dispatch, help navigate the driver of the Safe Ride van to assist students in securing safe ride transportation when needed. This position will record and maintain statistical data for reports on service usage. Other duties as assigned. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications: All Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • Age 18 or older

Safe Ride Driver:

  • A valid Arkansas Driver's License in good standing
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Customer service experience

Safe Ride Dispatcher:

  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in written form and verbally
  • Experience and ability to work in a diverse environment

Additional Information: These positions are considered safety sensitive; candidate will be subject to additional backgrounds.

The base work schedule for these positions will be during Safe Ride's Hours of Operations. Weekends are mandatory work days. Overtime work/pay is available and/or may be required.

Hours of Operation:

Monday - Saturday: 10PM - 3AM

Sunday: Afternoon - Evening

Salary Information: Varies depending on specific position:

Safe Ride Driver: $18.00/per hour

Safe Ride Office Assistant: $17.00/per hour
