About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President, Intellectual Property to lead its dedicated team in the development and execution of strategic IP initiatives. The successful candidate will be a key advisor on all intellectual property matters, with a focus on small molecule and/or biologic patent experience. This role requires a J.D. and admission to the Patent Bar, along with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, biology, or a related discipline. The VP will work closely with the R&D and CMC teams to identify new patent opportunities, manage the patent portfolio, and support business development efforts. Strong litigation experience, at least 10 years in a relevant legal setting, and the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships are essential. Applicants for the Vice President, Intellectual Property position at the company should be adept at collaborating with various teams, including the Executive Leadership and Board of Directors, and have a proven track record of developing and implementing IP strategies. The role also involves managing outside counsel, monitoring the competitive patent landscape, and leading IP due diligence work. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. A proactive, solution-oriented approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, are highly valued.
