School District 49 is actively seeking a Warehouse Courier for the Nutrition Services Department. Reports to: Warehouse Lead. Hourly rate of pay: Starting pay is $18.07 per hour to $22.05 per hour depending upon previous relative working experience. Actual starting pay rate will be determined after a review of the work experience provided on the job application. Full-time or Part-time: Full-time. Benefits available.

The Warehouse Courier is responsible for receiving, storing, delivery, and pick-up of district and nutrition services items. This classification includes two (2) positions with differing work calendars and oversight. One (1) position is a full-year assignment that provides operational support during the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure continuity of warehouse operations and functions. One (1) position is scheduled for 203 workdays annually in accordance with the district calendar. One (1) position is scheduled for 169 workdays annually in accordance with the district calendar.
Essential duties and responsibilities include unloading and/or loading freight trucks for nutrition services using proper equipment and approved semi-trailer inspection & dock devices. Also, using approved methods of inspections & temperature control for food items. Pulling food and non-food items from warehouse stock and delivering to all school sites. Utilizing food service standards of rotation, inspection, and temperature control. Inventories all food and non-food items as directed by Warehouse Supervisor. Unloads and/or load freight trucks when delivered at the warehouse in support of district operations. Uses approved methods of semi-trailer inspection, locking device, and dock leveling device. Ability to change or alter tasks given for that day to ensure all district needs are met on a priority basis and communicate changes with Warehouse Supervisor. Maintains custodial knowledge of cleaning chemicals, approved chemicals to use around food, and promoting a clean, bug and rodent free environment. Removes snow or debris from dock area and at other district sites before unloading as needed. Performs pre- and post-trip inspection of vehicles per approved transportation standards and guidelines; maintain log and write up defects as necessary; maintain cleanliness of district vehicles to promote a positive work environment. Maintains and checks all material handling equipment to ensure safe and ergonomic operation. Maintains Professional Standards requirements under the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act. Performs all other tasks as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.
Supervision & Technical Responsibilities: This position does not supervise other employees. Budget Responsibility: This position does not have any direct budget responsibility.
Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in warehouse operations.

- Availability to work outside scheduled hours to accomplish district needs as required by Warehouse Supervisor.
Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Valid Colorado driver's license.
- Forklift license required within 3 months after hire.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. The employee must have the ability to lift, hand truck, or pallet jack freight in excess of 20,000 pounds per person per week.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, use interpersonal skills. Occasionally required to compare, analyze, copy, coordinate, and negotiate.
