Respiratory Therapist

This is a 36 hours per week assignment. Evening/Night shifts will be from 19:00 to 07:30, 23:00 to 07:30, and 15:00 to 23:30. There is an every other weekend rotation and one on-call shift every six weeks, with some holidays. You will work with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include providing aerosolized medication, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy care, and sputum inductions to patients. You will work with non-invasive ventilation, high-flow, and mechanical ventilation at the intermediate and intensive care levels. Collaboration with physicians, care team leaders, staff nurses, and other caregiving disciplines will be essential to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for each patient. You may be required to float as needed. Pass/fail testing will be required with strict passing criteria. The telemetry exam will be required prior to start. You will have two attempts to pass the exam. The adult exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms, and no incorrect answers on questions regarding third-degree heart blocks. The passing score for both adult and pediatric exams is 80% or higher. If you do not pass after three attempts, the assignment will be canceled.

Experience: Minimum 2 years as a staff therapist required License: WI RCP license required - pending license at the time of submission is accepted Certifications: BLS required - AHA only, NBRC - RRT required Must-Have: - Pediatric and adult experience preferred - COARC accredited School for Respiratory Therapy required
