I'm partnering with a well-established, LTL carrier in Northern California's Central Valley to find their next Sales Director. This is a pure leadership role. There's no personal quota and no book of business required. Your job is to build, lead and develop a high-performing sales team and drive the commercial growth of the business.

The company has a strong reputation, loyal customers and a leadership team that invests in its people and technology. They need a sales leader who can take the commercial side to the next level through the team, not by selling personally.

What you'll be doing

• Leading, coaching and developing a geographically spread sales team, including hiring, performance management and running regular pipeline reviews
• Setting targets and building a consultative sales culture focused on understanding customers' freight needs and solving them, not just selling on price
• Working with senior leadership on sales strategy, budgets, forecasting and revenue targets
• Overseeing customer relationships across the team to protect and grow key accounts
• Using CRM and performance data to track results, forecast and report to the leadership team
• Working closely with operations and customer service on service delivery, including oversight of the local branch

What they're looking for

• A proven track record leading and developing sales teams in transportation or logistics, ideally LTL
• Confidence setting targets, managing pipelines and coaching reps to consistently hit their numbers
• A consultative, relationship-led approach to sales and leadership
• An understanding of branch or terminal operations and how service delivery drives customer retention
• A data-driven mindset, with the ability to read performance metrics and act on them
• Experience with modern CRM or AI-driven xhyhwjd sales tools is a plus
• A leader who builds and motivates people well, with a stable career history
