Can you please provide a summary of the project/initiative which describes what's being done?
This contract supports completion of functional assessment for the Medicaid beneficiaries of Arkansas.

Pay: $26-27/hr (If you need to pay $28, we can)

What is the manager looking for?
They are looking for candidates that have direct care experience with the mental health population

As you know we are looking for candidates with four-year degrees in psychology, social work, and/or a related field as well as experience working with behavioral health/mental health clients. These are clients with diagnoses and symptoms such as depression, anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations, delusions, socially unacceptable behaviors, substance use/abuse, etc (this is by no means a complete list). All these issues can lead to them to be unable to manage their day to day lives.
The type of degree is so very important as it provides the candidates with the foundation to work in behavioral/mental health BH or MH).

When we see candidates who primarily deliver ABA therapy and/or are Registered Behavior Technicians we understand they are coordinating and teaching skills like communication, social interaction, and ADLS.
Our assessors are going to be exploring the issues I listed above as well as many other BH issues and working to understand if the symptoms and diagnoses are controlled with treatment. We need them to have experience with understanding the symptoms and diagnoses, as well as interacting with a client that may NOT be controlled (they are delusional, paranoid, bipolar, and even suicidal, etc). The assessor has to be able to articulate the questions and navigate the interview to obtain the information.

What skills/attributes are required?
1. Bachelors degree in a Behavioral Health Field or related required (Psychology, Social Work, or Behavioral Sciences or similar)
2 . Minimum 1 year Behavioral Health hands on patient care experience required OR 2 years experience with Developmental Disability
3. Familiar and able to use technology (computer, hot spot, cell phone, gps)

Will you help us out, if you have candidates that you would like to submit that are working on their Masters degrees to become therapists, counselors, and/or social workers will you please discuss the following with them?
This role will not meet requirements for clinical and/or preceptor time.
We need to understand where they are in the process; for instance, will they need time away for clinical hours and/or testing for their certifications/licensures.
Please foot stomp that this is a full-time position, so time away for school would not be possible.

What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart)?
Experience with Behavioral Health population and completion of functional assessments for that population

Work hours? 7am-4:30pm with some occasional Saturday work
First 2 weeks are crucial training. They will work out in the field Day 7 or 8 with another person. Will be independent in about 4 weeks

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position?
1. completion of functional assessments virtually and in home
3. manage urgent situations that can occur
4. manage day to day schedule to optimize assessment completion
5. documentation of functional needs

Additional info from the manager:
They will be traveling every day during their 8 hour work day. Distance per day will depend on where our clients are located. We maximize their time with clients and watch carefully the amount of time they travel but on any given day their travel could outweigh their time with clients.
Each day starts at 7:30 a.m. with a virtual huddle except on Wednesdays and the huddle begins at 7:00 a.m. We usually stress the need to be ready to work once that huddle is completed.
The Assessments take anywhere from 45mins-1.5 hours to complete. The positives are they get to work independently while working in the field but they are required to complete these assessments before their day ends.
A team will schedule their appointments for them. They may be asked to travel farther than 50 miles from their home as they do have some clients in remote location (rare occurrence). Most documentation will be completed in the field at the homes/ facilities.
