Job Summary As a Clinical Nurse with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. You will use the nursing process framework and incorporate patient-family-centered care principles to ensure the highest quality of care. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader, you will be a vital member of our team, making a real difference in the lives of patients and their families. Essential Functions Apply the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge to meet the needs of patient, family, and significant other. Apply the core concepts of Patient- and Family-Centered Care (PFCC) in practice and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient and family. Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient-family partnerships on patient outcomes. Partner with and utilize patient and family input and goals in planning the plan of care. Provide quality care that meets or exceeds expectations of value (core measures, quality matrix, patient experience, fiscally responsible). Assist individuals in a manner that takes into account special needs, age-related and cultural-related needs. Recognize the roles of the interdisciplinary team, patient and family care partners and utilize them appropriately as resources in planning patient care. Delegate appropriate tasks. Demonstrate knowledge of and competently perform technical procedures and use equipment properly. Document in the patient record in a timely, accurate and concise manner. Develop teaching strategies for patient and family; document education and learning appropriately in the health record. Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and be responsible for continuing personal education, mentoring peers and educating patients and families. Stay up to date with current health system initiatives and incorporate evidence-based practice and research into practice. Maintain current knowledge in the area of clinical practice. Complete a self-appraisal that includes professional goals annually and complete peer review. Participate in department-based activities, staff meetings and committees. Actively participate in hand-offs of care, including the patient, family and partners in care. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and embrace cultural traditions and lore of the community served. Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree (BSN), or MSN, DNP/PhD. New graduates with less than one year experience must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one year of licensure and complete within five years. Graduates from non-accredited nursing programs with at least one year of acute-care experience or more than two years of experience in a licensed health-care role and successful NCLEX licensure. Registered Nurse (RN), State of Michigan license. Certifications (at least one of the following, required by job posting): CRT-Specialty Certification (state dependent). Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA, ARC or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA (critical care, emergency care, pre-op and PACU, radiology). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA (endoscopy, if applicable). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – ENA. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) – ENA. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA. Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) – NCC. NIH Stroke Certification – NIHSS.
