Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment. Delivers advanced-level medical care, including evaluation, treatment, and stabilization to the ill and injured. Responds to calls for emergency medical assistance, such as CPR or bandaging wounds. Assesses patients' conditions and determines courses of treatment. Provides first-aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients per accepted medical practice standards. Creates individualized care plans based on patient presentations according to accepted medical practice standards and department policies. Administers oral and intravenous medications. Intubates patients or performs surgical airway insertion, and places catheters for venous access. Conducts emergency medical classes as requested by management. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of patients and associates is essential. All associates are required to receive necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment. Exemptions for medical and religious reasons may apply. This department provides triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. Special equipment used includes Glidescope and Thoravent. Special procedures performed include cardioversion and closed reductions. Scrubs required are navy in color.
