Benefits Coordinator and Employee Engagement SpecialistSchedule: 8.0 hours per day; 260 days per year. Documents to be uploaded with this application: Cover Letter Resume Salary: $50,500 - $63,000 per year.Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the benefits coordinator/employee engagement specialist is responsible for the administration of employee benefits programs. The incumbent will be responsible for managing all aspects of employee benefits, including leave of absence, accommodations, and wellness programs, while also spearheading employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and supportive work environment.Under limited supervision, perform complex administrative duties following established procedures in all benefits-related areas. The incumbent relies on instructions and pre-established policies, procedures, and guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Confidentiality in handling employee information is mandatory. Must show initiative, assertiveness, flexibility, and be able to set priorities. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Proficiency in the use of all office equipment required. Experience with Excel, Word, and other HR/Benefits software, as needed. It is essential to be able to communicate and interact tactfully and professionally with staff and various members of the public including administrators, teachers, other staff, community patrons, and public and private agencies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):Benefit Administration:Coordinate and administer employee benefit programs, including voluntary leaves, and retirement benefits.Manage leave of absence request, ensuring compliance with all federal programs, applicable laws, and district policy.Process accommodation request and work closely with employees and administrators to facilitate reasonable accommodations.Responsible to stay updated on relevant regulations and best practices in benefits administration to ensure compliance and competitive offerings.Ensure compliance with all federal programs such as HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA.Make available relevant forms and other related material to employees, as requested.Develop educational material and create electronic and printed literature to enhance benefit educationEmployee Engagement:Develop and implement employee engagement strategies to enhance morale, productivity, and retention.Plan and organize employee events, activities, and recognition programs to foster a positive work culture.Collaborate with the Human Resource Director to identify opportunities for employee development and growth.Communication and Education:Communicate benefit programs, policies, and procedures to employees through various channels, ensuring understanding and accessibility.Provide guidance and support to employees navigating benefit options and understanding of their rights and responsibilities.Conduct regular training sessions or workshops on topics related to benefits, wellness, and work-life balance.Data Management and Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee benefits, leave requests, accommodations, and engagement activities.Generate reports and analyze data to track trends, assess program effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvement.Exhibit regular and timely attendance.Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may be required.Terms of Employment: Twelve-month employee. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Other Skill and Abilities: Experience working with computers is necessary. Windows and Google tools training/experience is preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
