Senior Survey Project Manager

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Survey Project Manager to lead complex land surveying projects supporting large‑scale infrastructure initiatives through on‑site work in Columbia, SC. This role is ideal for a licensed survey professional with strong project management experience who excels at balancing field operations, client engagement, and team leadership. Responsibilities Lead land surveying projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring compliance with quality standards, client requirements, schedules, budgets, and state regulations. Oversee daily field and office operations while developing project plans, staffing strategies, budgets, proposals, contracts, and billing schedules. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and supporting projects across infrastructure sectors including energy, utilities, and renewables. Monitor financial performance, mentor and develop project staff, and provide regular status updates and reporting to leadership. Qualifications Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license Proven experience managing complex land surveying projects and leading survey teams. Strong technical proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads (ORD), and the MS Office Suite. Collaborative leadership approach with a demonstrated commitment to mentorship, quality, and operational efficiency. Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).
