We're hiring a Senior Python Software Engineer to help expand WorkPro, our flagship operations platform deployed across multiple client environments. You'll work in a small, senior team, own backend services end-to-end, and help shape the technical direction of a system used daily by real operational teams.

This role is perfect for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys solving complex workflow problems, building reliable APIs, and working across both legacy and modern Python codebases.

What You'll Do

Backend & Integrations

• Build and maintain REST APIs (FastAPI / Django REST Framework) powering dispatch, service orders, billing, and asset workflows.
  
• Design relational schemas, migrations, and high-performance queries against SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  
• Develop integrations with enterprise platforms (Dynamics 365, Coupa, Trackunit, Power Automate/Logic Apps).
  
• Maintain legacy Python services while delivering new modules and incremental modernization.
  
• Document APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger and maintain versioned, typed contracts (Pydantic) for client teams.
  
• Implement workflow automation, background job pipelines (Celery/RQ), audit trails, reporting, and intelligent backend features.
  
• Ensure API performance, reliability, and security across high-volume operational workloads.
  

Frontend

• Contribute to Angular UI components for WorkPro modules.
  
• Support role-based UI flows for dispatchers, managers, and field technicians.
  
• Help maintain responsive, mobile-friendly interfaces across devices.
  

Team & Delivery

• Work with a Product Owner to deliver features in tight, iterative cycles.
  
• Collaborate with a Principal Developer on architecture and engineering standards.
  
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and production deployments.
  
• Own backend features from design through release.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional development experience (backend/API focus).
  
• Strong hands-on Python 3 experience shipping production REST APIs (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
  
• Solid SQL experience — relational modeling, complex queries, indexing, stored procedures.
  
• Practical experience with an ORM and migration tooling (SQLAlchemy + Alembic, or Django ORM).
  
• Experience maintaining and refactoring legacy Python codebases.
  
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems (ERP/CRM).
  
• Comfort with asynchronous Python (asyncio) and background task processing.
  
• Testing discipline with pytest and a habit of writing maintainable, reviewable code.
  
• Working knowledge of TypeScript and a modern frontend framework (Angular preferred).
  
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, agile consulting environment.
  

Preferred

• Experience with Dynamics 365, Power Automate, or Logic Apps.
  
• SQL performance tuning and query optimization.
  
• Experience with Azure (App Service, Functions, Service Bus), Docker, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  
• Data and orchestration tooling: pandas, Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
  
• Experience with AI-assisted development or LLM-backed workflows (RAG, structured extraction, agent tooling).
  
• Background in operational, dispatch, or field-service software.
  
• Angular 16+ / RxJS experience.
