Position Summary: The basic function of the Diesel Mechanic is to troubleshoot, clean, inspect, and maintain diesel and natural gas-powered trucks. Your Role: Troubleshooting and maintaining a fleet of trucks. Welding. Take an active role in improving safety and health in the workplace. Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings. Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies and other federal, state, and local standards. Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs. Your Skills: Ability to use various vehicle tools such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, jacking equipment, safety stands, and electronic testing equipment. Ability to receive, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to read and understand parts and service manuals. Ability to prepare legible and understandable work orders and schedule completion sheets. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions. Lifting moderate to heavy material is required. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Driver's License. Must supply own tools. ASE Certification. Demonstrated mechanical skills. 2-5 years of experience in a transportation environment.
