Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required, if needed | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency-type diagnoses at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
Perform and manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressors
Manage ventilator-dependent patients and operate CPAP/BiPAP equipment
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, managing dysrhythmias as indicated
Care for patients presenting with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma
Conduct triage, maintain isolation precautions, and float within skillset as needed; EPIC charting is required for all documentation

Required Qualifications
Active New York Single State RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses are not accepted)
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
NIHSS certification required — must be valid and included at time of submission
EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience required
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with specialized equipment such as Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
Experience in pediatric emergency care, including pediatric spinal cord injury
Background in a high-acuity trauma or stroke-certified environment
