Category Leader

Job Description Category Leader, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Chicago, IL. Assist leadership duringsourcing initiatives through total cost of ownership model development, category strategydevelopment, fact-based negotiation strategy development and execution, supplier evaluationand selection, and category strategy implementation. Manage multiple Professional Servicescategories (e.g., HR Services, Benefits, Travel, and Insurance) to manage risk, monitor marketconditions, and maximize returns. Establish and maintain effective relationships with keysuppliers. Develop an annual plan for value delivery based on organizational goals/objectives andmarketplace knowledge. Negotiate category's procurement activities, strategic sourcing, suppliermanagement and contract management to support the company's process. Streamline P2PProcess. Establish and evaluate performance metrics for category and own cost saving results.Engage internal stakeholders to jointly develop category strategies and communicate market andsourcing information. 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary: $147,012 to $157,012/yr. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Supply Management, Business Administration,Finance, or a related field, and three (3) years of related work experience. Must have three (3) years of experience with/in: Procurement, LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or project management; Creating pre-negotiation strategy including company's Best Alternative To a NegotiatedAgreement (BATNA); Negotiating complex agreements and understanding contract law; Using source-to-pay systems such as COUPA, Ariba or Maximo, and ERP Software such asJDE or SAP; and Using E-sourcing tools such as Ariba or Bravo. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required.
