About the Position

Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Speech Therapist Duration: Full Time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm Experience: 1+ years of related work experience preferred. License: Eligible for Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in the state of WI. Certifications: Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist license. Must maintain BLS certification. Must-Have: Professional degree in speech language pathology required. Must possess a valid, current driver's license. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required. Intermediate proficiency with computers is required. Strong assessment and planning skills. Strong quantitative and analytical competency. Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Description: The Speech Language Pathologist assesses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders. The aim is to help individuals enhance their ability to communicate and swallow safely. Responsibilities include performing direct patient care and assessing speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Patient documentation must be completed, including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress reports, and discharge reports. Contacting insurance companies regarding benefits is also required. Preparation for evaluation and treatment sessions is necessary. Education to staff, including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers, is provided regarding results and recommendations. In-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff are created. Collaboration with healthcare providers is essential to provide patient-centered treatment. Treatment rooms must be cleaned following sessions. Reminder calls to patients should be provided. Assisting patients and families in navigating the hospital is part of the role. Other duties may be requested as needed.
