Responsibilities Must use hand tools such as gauging equipment, squares, rules, protractor and special wrenches and air tools, as needed. Check machine setting periodically to ensure that parts being made are to specifications. Checks department for compliance of all safety rules and standards and reports to the Sheet Metal Lead any condition out of his control. Maintains a neat, clean, orderly and functional work area at all times. Performs user maintenance on all machines and equipment. Work must conform to Webster Engineering quality standards. Performs other related duties as required. Will be required to perform assignments with a minimum of supervision and assistance in the job performance. Learn to set up and operation of all types of machines for sheet metal cutting, punching, forming, riveting and drilling. Includes ability to set up for new parts from information on templates, sketches or prints. Learn to select tooling, set gauges. Requirements High School Diploma Able to read and understand blueprints Able to use power tools such as hand grinders and drills, and use small hand tools such as hammer, file, tape measure and other various measuring instruments. Able to learn to set up and operate power equipment and operate safely and accurately. Able to handle lifting equipment such as cranes and hand trucks. Ability to manually lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work occasional overtime when required Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and a plant which is not temperature controlled. Inside Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors. #J-18808-Ljbffr
