JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Forklift Operator in Flint, MI . Our client is a leading provider in the housing industry, specializing in the production and distribution of building materials for residential and modular homes . The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe handling, movement, and storage of lumber, panels, and other construction materials throughout the warehouse and production areas.

Responsibilities of a Forklift Operator include:

• Operating sit-down forklifts and other industrial vehicles to transport building materials
• Loading and unloading flatbeds, trailers, and box trucks
• Moving large pallets of construction materials such as lumber, drywall, siding, and insulation
• Supplying production lines with materials and relocating finished goods to staging or shipping areas
• Performing daily inspections of the forklift and reporting maintenance issues
• Following safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques, PPE, and securing loads
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas and material storage zones
• Assisting with general labor or warehouse duties as needed

Job Requirements of a Forklift Operator:

• Proficiency in operating forklifts in a warehouse or yard environment, including handling large or awkward loads
• Ability to work in outdoor or semi-exposed environments in varying weather conditions
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs consistently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to cross-train in other areas of material handling or general labor
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of recent forklift experience, preferably in the construction, housing, or building materials industry
• Valid forklift certification preferred (or ability to be certified on-site)
