Details Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital setting Facility manages approximately 200-300 births per month Patient ratio of 1:1-2 Rotating shift schedule with Day (3x12 Hours, 7:00-19:00) and Night (3x12 Hours, 19:00-7:00) options Cerner charting system used Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed Candidates must be available to work every other holiday Requirements Active PA or Compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Current AHA certifications required: BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Intermediate AWHONN Advanced certification preferred Cerner charting experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Experience with high-risk delivery, C-section circulation, and vaginal delivery assistance Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and abnormal fetal heart rate pattern recognition Experience managing high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, VBAC, and preterm labor Skilled in maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC), IV therapy, and administration of blood products Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives Additional Information Responsibilities include labor management, delivery assistance, postpartum care, and newborn care in the delivery room Provide antepartum care including NSTs, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage Support postpartum patients with fundus/lochia/perineum care, breastfeeding support, and wound assessment Perform newborn care duties including APGAR scoring, cord care, and discharge teaching to parents Care for high-acuity patients with conditions such as HELLP syndrome, uterine rupture, and multiple gestation Provide pain management support including epidural anesthesia and PCA use Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed Local candidates accepted at the travel rate Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers American Traveler Job ID P-737461.
