Diesel Truck Maintenance Technician

Position Summary Responsible for performing preventive maintenance, special inspections and general repairs on tractor and trailer units in accordance with DOT, federal and state regulations and Company standards. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers. Perform annual/systematic 90‑day inspections to ensure equipment meets federal FHWA standards. Conduct HM inspections. Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies, including identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes. Complete additional duties as assigned. Requirements – Education and Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Experience in the use of inspection and test equipment used for cargo tank inspections. Essential Qualifications Must have own tools. Language Skills Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently. Physical Demands Use arms to reach, stretch, and grasp, move, or assemble objects of a variety of sizes. Use legs to stand for long periods, maneuver through shop environment, and perform locomotive functions including crawling, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and carrying or relocating objects weighing up to 75 lbs. Perform broad locomotive motions such as bending, twisting, balancing, and reaching. Perform fine locomotive motions involving the use of fingers for tool manipulation. Adjust, execute, maintain, and repeat all bodily motions, postures, and stances to accommodate rapid and gradual changes within the work environment. Visual and auditory demands for operating in varying lighting and sound levels, including identifying objects at close and distant ranges. Maintain a constant state of alertness and safe operation. Work Environment Confined spaces are utilized in this position.
