Investment Operations Analyst

Description Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI) is seeking an Analyst to join its Investment Operations Shared Services Team, supporting the reconciliation function of invested assets. The Shared Services Reconciliation Team plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of investment data across multiple asset classes. Our team supports various investment types, including public equity, investment‑grade and high‑yield debt, structured credit (MBS/CMO), private credit, bank loans, and derivatives. The Analyst will work closely with team members to fulfill reconciliation mandates, ensure operational efficiency, and enhance internal controls. The successful candidate will contribute to fostering an environment of continuous improvement and participate in initiatives aimed at increasing automation and process optimization. Key Responsibilities Perform reconciliation of cash, custodians, positions, and transactions between the Accounting Book of Records (ABOR), Custodians, and the Investment Book of Record (IBOR). Review outstanding cash and holding reconciliation items for potential material impact. Investigate and elevate discrepancies to ensure timely resolution. Maintain comprehensive backup documentation for reconciliation breaks and ensure completeness for monthly close processes. Monitor and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirements. Analyze trends in discrepancies and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and minimize recurrence. Support the development and implementation of reconciliation automation initiatives to optimize operational workflows. Participate in additional daily tasks as required by the Lead or Manager. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required. 3‑5 years of relevant work experience in Investment Operations or related financial roles. Strong understanding of various investment strategies and products, including private credit. Excellent business acumen and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and a demonstrated ability to learn new applications quickly. Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Self‑motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience with SimCorp Dimension, BlackRock Aladdin, and S&P WSOWeb is preferred but not required. Pay Philosophy The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
