About CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital

• ED Volume: 44,000
• ED Beds: 26, plus 4 vertical fast-track rooms
• Admission Rate: 25%
• Trauma Designation: Busy Level III with Level II resources
• Certified Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center
• Coverage: 8- and 9-hour shifts with 41 hours of physician coverage and 36 hours of APP coverage per day
• EMR: Dragon with Pulse Check
• Scribes are available
• Primary stroke center with mechanical thrombectomy capabilities
• CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital anchors the CHI St. Joseph Health System. Its Emergency and Trauma Center opened in 2016. It's the only Level II Trauma Center serving nine counties. The hospital offers extensive surgery programs. It's regionally known for cardiac, cancer and rehabilitation services. St. Joseph ED staff can receive Texas A&M Health Science Center clinical faculty appointments. This allows physicians to teach students and residents.
