Job Details Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 09/14/2026 Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30) Weekly Hours: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070-$2,180 Orientation: 40 hours Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday Floating: Required; may float to medical-surgical, low-level monitoring, or other critical care units as needed Charting System: Epic Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience Minimum 2 years of ICU experience Active Pennsylvania RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Experience in a teaching hospital and Level I trauma setting required Strong critical care background with experience caring for 1:1 to 3:1 patient ratios Epic charting experience required Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiovascular ICU and adapt across multiple critical care units Responsibilities Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to cardiovascular and critically ill adult patients Monitor and manage complex hemodynamic and cardiac conditions in a CVICU setting Support patients receiving vasoactive drips, anticoagulation protocols, ventilator support, and advanced cardiac monitoring Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare partners Respond to changing patient conditions with strong clinical judgment and prioritization Float between critical care and lower-acuity units as needed while maintaining safe, effective patient care Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic Contribute to a team-oriented culture focused on quality care and excellent patient outcomes Location Highlights Based in Allentown, PA, in the heart of the Lehigh Valley Enjoy a location that blends city convenience with nearby parks, trails, and weekend getaways Convenient access to dining, shopping, and a vibrant regional community Apply now for this CVICU travel nursing opportunity in Allentown, Pennsylvania and bring your critical care expertise to a collaborative healthcare team.
