Position Overview The Purchasing Manager will oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including demand planning, inventory management, supplier relations, and risk mitigation. The role involves collaborating with sales, marketing, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment and efficient operations. The goal is to drive continuous improvement, optimise supply chain processes, reduce costs, and uphold high-quality standards. Responsibilities Oversee procurement of raw materials and packaging. Implement purchasing strategies and manage the purchasing team to secure cost-effective deals. Work with sales and marketing to forecast demand and plan accordingly. Develop inventory strategies to optimise stock levels and minimise costs. Maintain strong supplier relationships for reliable supply. Manage sourcing, purchasing, and timely delivery of materials. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks. Improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs through process optimisation. Utilise analytics tools for data-driven decision-making. Support initiatives like right first time (RFT), continuous improvement, and waste reduction. Candidate Profile 4+ years procurement/purchasing experience. Background in manufacturing, engineering, or FMCG sectors. Proven team leadership skills. Excellent communication and organisational abilities. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel. Experience sourcing materials within the UK and internationally. Knowledge of inventory management, Certificates of Analysis, and supply chain risks.
