CT TechnologistConducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Uses professional manners and methods to verify patient identification. Obtains patient history and assists patients and family members requiring extra attention. Ensures patient understanding whenever possible and ensures patient safety. Asks and documents pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age. Obtains images per protocols and manipulates images according to protocols. Performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of CT algorithms. Selects appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy. Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols. Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures. Follows correct procedures to determine contrast eligibility. Checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol. Maintains thorough understanding of PACS and transmits images for quality control. Verifies and segments images, accesses service tools to verify image transmissions. Completes, modifies, and/or cancels orders in a timely manner. Cancels duplicate orders to avoid duplicate billing and ensures accurate charge information. Verifies patient identification according to policy and ensures accurate demographic information on images. Performs tasks in a timely manner and runs the schedule to create a consistent workflow. Volunteers for challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research. Produces quality diagnostic images. Reviews patient charts and reports for correlation. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Documents incidents as improvement opportunities for employees and the department. Precepts new employees and students.Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science. Must become registered within one year of employment and maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually. Current competency in HCP BLS. Siemens experience preferred. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.
