How you'll contribute
- Ensure all required demographic, billing, and clinical data are obtained and accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner.
- Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients and families.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary.
- Determine and accepts required payments (e.g., co-pays, deductibles) or refers to financial counseling as appropriate.
- Communicate professionally in-person and by phone; provides clear instructions and excellent customer service.
- Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all registration activities.
- Participate in performance improvement and required education.
- Work alternate shifts/areas as needed to support department operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: High School diploma preferred.
- Skills:
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems.
- Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand).
- Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
