The position serves as a technical resource for electrical systems while supporting the broader needs of the Facilities Management Department.The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary facilities maintenance environment and is expected to assist with a variety of building systems and maintenance activities beyond the electrical trade. These responsibilities may include HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, architectural, structural, fire/life safety, lighting, building controls, and other facility systems. The ability to collaborate with other trades, contractors, vendors, and facility personnel is essential.A Colorado Master Electrician license is highly preferred and may be considered an advantage for candidates who can provide advanced technical knowledge, leadership, and support for complex electrical projects and systems.Here’s how you’ll have an impact:Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including electrical distribution, wiring, lighting, controls, motors, VFDs, emergency power systems, and related equipment.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, inspections, equipment rounds, testing, and readings to identify potential failures, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.Respond to electrical emergencies and complex troubleshooting situations, identify root causes when possible, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.Ensure electrical work is performed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all state and local electrical codes enforced by the applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and applicable codes to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility improvement projects.Assist with the planning, coordination, installation, and completion of electrical projects, renovations, and facility improvements.Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed, including assisting with scope development, scheduling, work oversight, quality control, and completion of electrical and related facility work.Support the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire/life safety systems and other building systems as appropriate.Perform general facilities maintenance and assist other trades as operational needs require. Duties may include plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, architectural, structural, fire/life safety, doors and hardware, lighting, building controls, and other facility-related repairs and projects.Complete assigned work orders and maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, materials, equipment conditions, and project activities within the CMMS.Assist with developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, maintenance practices, checklists, and other documentation for electrical and facility systems.Provide professional and responsive customer service to USOPC staff, athletes, coaches, visitors, contractors, and other facility users.Work collaboratively with the Facilities Management team to prioritize work, complete projects, respond to emergencies, and maintain safe, reliable, and functional facilities.Support energy-efficiency, sustainability, and facility improvement initiatives and recommend opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and operating costs.Participate in emergency response, after-hours work, on-call rotations, and other activities necessary to support continuous facility operations.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:High school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, technical school, or equivalent trade education required.Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician license required.Colorado Master Electrician license preferred.Valid Colorado Driver's License required.5+ years of hands-on electrical trade experience.Demonstrated experience in electrical installation, service, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.Commercial, institutional, industrial, or campus facilities experience preferred.Experience working in a multidisciplinary facilities maintenance environment preferred.Experience working with contractors and service vendors.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, distribution, lighting, controls, motors, and related equipment.Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase AC electrical systems.Ability to troubleshoot VFDs, motors, controls, and building automation-related electrical systems.Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, tracers, and related tools.Working knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes and ordinances.General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, architectural, structural, fire/life safety, and other building systems.Strong problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.Excellent verbal and written communication and customer-service skills.Ability to prioritize multiple work orders, projects, and deadlines with minimal supervision.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary Facilities Management team.Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, CMMS/work-order management systems, and other computer-based technologies.Willingness and ability to learn new technologies, equipment, systems, and maintenance practices.Here are the tools, equipment, & conditions:Occasional non-traditional work schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call rotations.Occasional domestic and international travel.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and scissor lifts.Ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and work in confined or difficult-to-access areas.Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier objects using appropriate tools, equipment, and safe lifting techniques.Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, motorized equipment, and other facility maintenance equipment.Ability to use computers, tablets, smartphones, and other technology required for facilities operations.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.Here's where you'll work:Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (primary)Colorado Springs Downtown HeadquartersSport HouseVelodromeOther USOPC Facilities as assignedHere's some more information you need to know:Hiring pay range $31.00 - $32.00 per hour.This Full-Time, Non-Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 5% target.
