Principal Security Architect

Salary: $180,000 - 220,000 per year Requirements:

• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including at least 4+ years at a Lead or Enterprise Architect level.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and securing multi-tenant public cloud environments.
• Proven background with containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes, as well as microservices, service meshes, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
• Expertise in zero trust security, modern identity standards such as OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML, plus advanced cryptography.
• Experience building security guardrails for AI/ML pipelines, LLM integrations, and data lake architectures.
• Experience securing fast-growing, high-transaction SaaS or cloud-native product environments.
• Solid understanding of downstream security workflows related to detection and response.
• Demonstrated ability to align engineering teams, influence developer behavior, and advocate for security without direct management authority.
• Exceptional skill in translating complex technical vulnerabilities and risk into clear business language for executive stakeholders.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, CCSP, or cloud architecture/security credentials from AWS, Google, or Microsoft are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and AKS implementations is a plus.

• Define and advance our enterprise security strategy, including the architectural vision and technical direction.
• Build secure reference architectures and repeatable patterns across key domains such as IAM, AI, cloud infrastructure, and secret management.
• Develop engineering guardrails and paved paths that let teams ship quickly without bypassing security controls.
• Lead ongoing threat modeling sessions for critical product features and core infrastructure components.
• Promote a Security by Design culture across product and engineering teams through influence rather than rigid enforcement.
• Partner early with Product Management to embed security requirements into the product development lifecycle.
• Mentor senior security team members to strengthen overall technical execution.
• Evaluate, benchmark, and approve third-party technologies and vendor integrations from a security standpoint.
• Communicate technical vulnerabilities and architectural risks in terms of business impact.
• Support the security of platform growth and scalability while balancing innovation and risk mitigation.
