Class A CDL Driver – Vacaville, CAPay: $27.00–$32.00 per hour (DOE)
Valley Iron is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our Vacaville team. If you take pride in providing excellent customer service, operating safely, and being part of a hardworking team, we'd love to hear from you.
This position involves delivering customer orders in a timely manner while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and professionalism. When deliveries are complete, you'll assist with yard and warehouse operations.
Responsibilities- Safely operate a Class A bobtail or tractor-trailer truck.
- Deliver customer orders accurately and on time.
- Pull and prepare orders for delivery.
- Load, unload, secure, tarp, and chain materials as needed.
- Climb on and off trailers and equipment safely.
- Inspect trucks before and after each trip.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and ELD records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Verify load measurements and ensure cargo is properly secured.
- Keep trucks clean and well-maintained.
- Follow all DOT, company, and safety procedures.
- Report equipment issues or incidents promptly.
- Assist in the yard and warehouse when not making deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid California Class A CDL (Required)
- Valid DOT Medical Card (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of Class A driving experience preferred (tractor-trailer and flatbed experience is a plus)
- Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to climb trailers and forklifts safely
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
- Must meet FMCSA English language proficiency requirements under 49 CFR §391.11(b)(2)
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Long periods of driving with frequent loading and unloading
- Fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Exposure to noise, dust, and occasional chemical fumes
- Use of PPE and various material handling equipment
- Competitive hourly pay: $27.00–$32.00 per hour
