Travel Orthopedic Inpatient RN - $2,278 per week

Essential Functions:

• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
• Complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
• Implement care plans, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
• Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers.
• Identify own learning needs and take initiative to address them.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Department Specific Job Functions:

• Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients every shift.
• Educate ortho and medical/surgical patients on wound care, proper mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs.
• Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners on patient care.
• Delegate and monitor interventions of HCT staff.
• Set up ortho traction and manipulate surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care.
• Manage wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, pouches, and other urological devices.

• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
