Press Operator

Rubber Molding Press Operator

Working for a manufacturer of vibration, shock and noise control products, safely operate multiple rubber molding presses and support trimming of the molded parts. There are two shifts available. On first shift, the typical work schedule is Monday Thursday from 5:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. On second shift, the typical work schedule is Monday Thursday from 3:45 p.m. 2:15 a.m. There is a shift premium for the second shift. On both shifts, there is the expectation that overtime on Fridays may be mandatory.

Essential Job Functions

  • Run several rubber molding presses during any one shift.
  • Support trimming of the molded parts.
  • Read and follow work order instructions.
  • Support fellow molders when needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the molding line.
  • Record daily metrics.
  • Keep press lines clean and safe.

Education, Training, Certifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is basic to the position.
  • Ability to pass drug screen.
  • Ability to pass lift test.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of similar machine operating experience preferred

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Heavy lifting and working with hot molds will be required for this position.
  • Problem solving skills are helpful.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task is essential.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing plant environment.

Accountability

  • Responsible to follow all procedures and technical guidelines as well as adhere to customer requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
