RN - Bed Control / Transfer Center, Nights

Role Overview Bed Control/Transfer Center Registered Nurse (BCTC RN) manages bed coordination, patient transfer evaluation, and documentation within a hospital setting. They collaborate with various departments including emergency, inpatient, surgical, and physician offices to optimize patient flow and ensure quality service. The RN assesses patients for appropriate care levels and bed placement, utilizing problem‑solving and customer service skills to determine the best course of action for patients, physicians, and the hospital. They work closely with House Supervisors, staff, and administration to facilitate smooth operations. Responsibilities Coordinate and assign hospital beds. Evaluate, process, and document patient transfers. Collaborate with clinical teams and physicians to optimize patient flow. Assess patient needs for appropriate care and bed placement. Work with hospital leadership to resolve operational issues. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. 3‑5 years of RN experience in acute care; critical care or emergency/trauma experience preferred. Proficient with EPIC EMR platform. RN licensure in Georgia or multistate licensure required. BCLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
