Position Overview and Qualifications

In the role of RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator, you will spearhead the Trauma Program’s initiatives to maintain safe and high-quality care from the moment a patient arrives until their discharge. Collaborating closely with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director, you will review cases, evaluate system performance, and utilize data to implement enhancements that elevate patient care. Your responsibilities will ensure compliance with national ACS standards, support program requirements, and affirm our commitment to delivering safe, dependable, and high-quality trauma care.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Evaluating and analyzing trauma cases—both in real-time and retrospectively—to assess quality, timeliness, adherence to guidelines, and compliance with ACS and state standards.
• Identifying and validating opportunities for performance improvement, adverse events, and systemic issues, while supporting action plans that drive measurable, closed-loop enhancements.
• Coordinating and documenting Trauma PIPS activities, PI events, data elements, and registry information to demonstrate compliance and facilitate trauma center verification.
• Preparing and presenting selected cases, trends, and quality findings during multidisciplinary PI, peer review, and trauma operations meetings.
• Educating and supporting clinical teams, residents, EMS agencies, and external facilities by sharing trauma PI principles, guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaborating and contributing to the development of guidelines, research initiatives, verification preparation, and ongoing improvements across the trauma service line.

Required Qualifications:

• • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.

• No travel is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
