Full Job Description Business Analyst / Product Support Specialist Position Summary We are hiring a Business Analyst/ Product Support Specialist for our IFS Software, which is financial software utilized by counties in Minnesota. The Business Analyst / Product Support Specialist serves as a bridge between customers, product owners, and the software development team. This role is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, providing first-level application support, coordinating user acceptance testing efforts, and managing operational activities related to customer software releases and upgrades. Typical Allocation of Responsibilities * 50% Business Analysis
* 40% Product Support
* 10% Release & Upgrade Coordination Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management * Partner with product owners, stakeholders, and customers to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
* Translate business needs into clear, detailed requirements for software engineers.
* Assist in evaluating enhancement requests and recommending solutions that align with product goals.
* Develop process flows, use cases, business requirements, and functional specifications as needed.
* Facilitate meetings with stakeholders, product owners and software engineers to clarify requirements and resolve questions. Product Support & Customer Assistance * Serve as the primary point of contact for first-level customer support inquiries.
* Troubleshoot application issues and resolve problems within established service level expectations.
* Escalate complex technical issues to software engineering while providing detailed documentation and analysis.
* Track support requests and maintain communication with customers through resolution.
* Create and maintain knowledge base articles, user guides, and support documentation.
* Present and train on various application features at occasional user group meetings and training events throughout the year. These are in-person events and virtual sessions. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)* Coordinate and support user acceptance testing activities for software enhancements and releases.
* Develop and execute test scenarios based on business requirements.
* Validate delivered functionality against requirements and customer expectations. Client Application Upgrades * Coordinate and perform customer application upgrades following scheduled software releases.
* Follow established upgrade procedures and implementation checklists developed by the software engineering team.
* Schedule upgrade activities with customers and communicate timelines, prerequisites, and post-upgrade expectations.
* Verify successful completion of upgrade activities and confirm application functionality with customers.
* Troubleshoot common upgrade-related issues and coordinate with software engineers when technical assistance is required.
* Maintain upgrade schedules, documentation, and deployment records.
* Serve as the primary customer contact during upgrade activities.
* Support approximately three software releases annually, with upgrade coordination representing approximately 10% of the role's responsibilities. Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field · 3-5 years experience with business requirements gathering and documentation in the computer software industry · Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills · Experience supporting software applications or enterprise systems · Experience with accounting processes and/or accounting software is preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.00 per year Benefits:
