Senior Business Analyst – Oracle Payroll

Position Overview

SBS is hiring a senior, technical-functional Oracle resource with deep, hands-on experience in Oracle Payroll implementation and post-go-live (hypercare) support. This is not a traditional Business Analyst role — the right candidate brings strong Oracle HCM expertise, can configure and troubleshoot within the system, and is comfortable acting as a subject matter expert in a fast-paced environment.

This is a high-priority role with an accelerated timeline. Candidates should be able to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up.

Required Experience & Skills

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Oracle HCM / Payroll
• Proven, hands-on experience with Oracle HCM implementations
• Oracle Payroll expertise (required) — configuration and troubleshooting
• Core HR
• OTBI reporting
• HDL / HSDL data loads
• Experience supporting post-go-live environments (hypercare), system enhancements, and issue resolution
• Ability to work across both functional and technical areas

Preferred Experience

• Recent Oracle Payroll implementation experience
• Background in consulting or managed services environments
• Strong, hands-on experience in HCM report creation

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams — gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to support effective system solutions
• Serve as liaison between business users and the technical team for analysis and design
• Document, track, and work on functional and data requirements with minimal supervision
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes through information systems
• Plan, organize, and conduct walkthroughs with business units and technical teams to drive shared understanding and sign-off on requirements
• Provide technical assistance to peers and mentor where applicable
• Partner with the Scrum Master, Product Owners, PMs, and other business/data analysts; drive issue analysis and resolution across platform teams throughout the SDLC

Qualifications & Attributes

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated — willing to dig deep to uncover facts rather than rely on assumptions
• Assertive; able to push and facilitate requirements discussions with little to no supervision
• Strong technical fundamentals — system behavior, interactions, dependencies, and data knowledge
• Basic financial services knowledge is sufficient; technical depth is required
• Flexible, adaptable, and an excellent team player
• Comfortable working in a global virtual team, including with NY- and India-based members across multiple time zones
• Committed to delivering on time with minimal supervision
