Epic experience required. Note: If your traveler does not have recent Epic experience they will be cancelled. This is a hard requirement. Charting experience must be noted next to each assignment on the profile to be submitted. No exceptions.

Unit: ICU

Shift: 3x12 days (06:30 - 19:00)

Years of Experience Required: Epic experience required; 3 years working experience preferred in a hospital setting.

First-Timers Travelers: No first time travelers. Minimum of one successful travel assignment is required with no performance or attendance issues.

Weekends Required: 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks

Certifications Required: BLS & ACLS required; NIH required

Float Required: Float to Med Surg (1:5)/ ER depending on census

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: CRRT, (nxt stage) cardiac, cardiac surgery, CABG (hemodynamic monitoring) respiratory failure: vent management, DKA, altered mental status. Manage multiple drips.

Any Special Procedure Done on the Unit? Central line set up & management; central line, ART line, CVP; basic dysrhythmia training required.

Attendance Policy: OSUMC has a zero-fault attendance policy which means that any missed scheduled shift regardless of the reason counts as unexcused. (2) missed shifts will result in a warning, and (3) missed shifts may result in a cancellation. This applies to a rolling calendar year. Please ensure all candidates are aware of this policy prior to submission.

Compliance Call Out: Travelers must commit to going into the lab within 48-72 hours of signing!

Patient Diagnoses: Medsurg, cardio, no neuro ARDS, SLED Dialysis, CRRT, IABP, Hypothermia, S/P code, Sepsis, S/P surgery patients, S/P heart surgery, PNA, Ventilators

Teaching Facility

Facility does not have Hospital Pneumatic tube system, so medications, labs etc need to be hand delivered to pharmacy or Lab. Please note ICU is on 4th floor, pharmacy and Lab are on 1st floor

Travelers in ICU are expected to float to MS/Tele settings, this does happen often please be aware

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Critical Care Track (ICU) PLUS: At a minimum 3 years of ICU specific (LTAC does NOT count as ICU Experience) Airway Mgmt.oHeparinoICU Specific Drip Mgmt. Nurse to patient ratio 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 Chest Pain Mgmt. Special Equipment: Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiac Nurses (will specify) - ICU skills set PLUS: Pulmonary Artline/Swan Ganz/Cardiac Output Monitoring Mgmt. of Post op CABG, Day 1-3 Post op CABG Impella Mgmt. IABP Mgmt.

References: 1 reference within the past year from a Manager or Unit Supervisor (no charge RNs) in relevant specialty required; most recent assignment preferred

RTO: 5 days max in a 13-week assignment. No holidays. No additional RTO after the time of submittal or while working on contract. NO RTO on or around (day before, day of, and day after) Major Holidays. No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests. Will accept locals at the same rate as travelers

No background or license hits are allowed. Valid Oklahoma or Compact License required at the time of submission.

Modules: Modules are non-billable, 3-4 hours average. Modules are required pre-start. Modules are recorded via transcripts, and/or self reported with submission of completion certificates.

Traveler agrees to the job's start date, and no changes will be accepted after submission. Traveler accepts the job description, pay package, and caseload ratio. Traveler understands no block or specific scheduling requests will be allowed. Traveler confirms all requested time off (max 5 days, no holidays) is provided, and no additional time off will be granted after submission. Traveler is familiar with EPIC charting and meets its requirements. Traveler understands OSUMC's zero-fault attendance policy (missed shifts result in warnings/cancellation). Traveler has not worked at OSUMC as a traveler or perm employee (if a return traveler, this must be noted). Traveler agrees to complete all assigned modules before the start date.
