Lead Software Engineer - Java

Salary: $145,000 - 175,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree plus 6 years of experience in software application development and maintenance, or a high school diploma/GED plus 10 years of experience in software application development and maintenance
• Extensive background in a large enterprise setting, with experience designing and leading the implementation of medium to large systems
• Prior success leading development teams to successful deployments and mentoring senior developers
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly with tech leads, team members, business product owners, and external teams
• Preferred: experience with modern microservice-based systems
• Preferred: strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills

• We will drive domain-wide change initiatives to improve quality, speed, and throughput
• We will oversee proactive maintenance of our existing IaaS, SaaS, and on-premises applications across Digital, Cards, Risk, and Merchant Services to keep mission-critical systems stable, scalable, and fit for purpose
• We will coordinate and support troubleshooting of code defects, data issues, and configuration problems to identify the source of application errors
• We will support business-critical and complex applications
• We will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• We will drive departmental best practices, implement guidelines, and adhere to standards
• We will design and develop real-time integrations and file-based integrations, and optimize database-level processing

We are hiring a hands-on Lead Software Engineer for our growing Corporate Credit Card delivery team. This is a remote role open to multiple markets across the United States. Our team delivers technology solutions and integration services across Corporate Credit Cards, Credit Card Risk Underwriting, Credit Card Portfolio Management, and Merchant Services. We are building a new custom platform and expanding automated testing across newly developed projects. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with developers, business partners, and architects while solving complex problems, strengthening technical skills, and shaping solutions in a highly engaged engineering environment. We offer a competitive base salary generally between $145,000 and $175,000, with actual pay determined by skills, experience, location, and other lawful factors.
