Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your expertise as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to a rewarding school-based contract opportunity located near Garland, TX, beginning July 30, 2026 and running through May 28, 2027. This full-time, itinerant assignment offers the chance to work with a diverse group of students across multiple campuses, providing essential services that make a lasting impact.

As a valued educator, you will work 37.5 hours each week, directly supporting a caseload of 12-15 students, including at least three who are homebound. You’ll collaborate closely with other professionals and families, traveling between approximately six campuses to ensure students with visual impairments receive the instruction and resources they need to succeed. Please note, this is an on-site position, not open to virtual or remote work.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Texas State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with visual impairments in K-12 settings
  • Strong ability to manage itinerant schedules and adapt to caseload changes during the school year
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with faculty, staff, and families
  • Compassion and dedication to tailoring instruction to each student's unique needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to eligible students as outlined in their IEPs
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized instructional programs
  • Visit and serve students at multiple campuses and in homebound settings as needed
  • Provide training and resources to school staff and families to support student access
  • Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation
