Adjunct Instructor

The University of Southern Mississippi is currently accepting applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor – Athletic Training. Location: Hattiesburg, MS 39406-0001, United States Division: School of Health Professions Position Type: Faculty Employment Status: Part-Time Grant Funded: No Pay Grade: Generic Grade Posting Close: Open Until Filled Eligibility Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. Job Summary This part‑time adjunct faculty position requires teaching online or in‑person undergraduate courses in the Athletic Training degree program on an as needed basis. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Face-to-face and/or online course delivery and instruction. Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner. Communicate course requirements and expectations to students. Communicate with other program and school-level faculty. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree or higher in Athletic Training or a related field. Mississippi state license or eligibility. Ability to teach effectively, according to University standards, in the undergraduate and graduate Athletic Training programs. Successful criminal history and background check clearance. Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the School of Health Professions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Specialized knowledge in the field of Athletic Training as demonstrated by national certification. Ability to deliver accurate, concise, and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner. Ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams. Ability to navigate and use learning management systems for teaching, such as Canvas, and other technological communications (Microsoft Office Suite). Preferred Qualifications Teaching, mentoring, and/or service experience at the university level. Professional experience in Athletic Training. Experience with USM's Learning Management System, Canvas.
