Description: Work together with the dentist to meet the oral health needs of the patient. Provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations. These duties range in complexity and skill, requiring an exceptional level of customer service skills. Demonstrate a strong commitment to working well with patients, doctors, dental assistants, and other dental office team members. GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment operation may be required. Provide oral hygiene dental treatment and oral hygiene care and education following state guidelines. Apply fluoride and protective sealants. Remove calculus, stain, and plaque from above and below the gum line. Provide nutritional counseling and self-care programs to prevent disease. Record and review patient medical histories. Uphold office policy including compliance with relevant regulations. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Order and keep track of inventory as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. This job operates in a medical/clinical environment. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers and x-rays is required. The work environment is well-lighted and sterile. Employees must wear gloves, masks, protective eyewear, and appropriate clothing to ensure safety. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. Stand and/or sit for long periods, walk, and use hands to handle or feel. Reach with hands and arms, and lift/move objects up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to blood and blood-borne pathogens and physical risks. OSHA training is required for this position.
