Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with vascular experience for a hospital Surgical Services department position.

Details

Hospital Surgical Services department featuring 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms, plus PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, and scheduling support areas
CST Vascular focus
26-week contract
Monday through Friday schedule, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Call required every other day and every other weekend

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or comparable military training
BLS certification required
NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery Certified (TS-C) required
License required if applicable

Additional Information

Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures
Prepare for surgical cases by ensuring instruments and supplies are sterilized and available, and maintaining the sterile field during setup
Pass instruments and assist the physician during cases, including cutting suture material and applying electrocautery to clamps under direct surgeon supervision when needed
Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts, and collaborate with the circulating nurse throughout the case
Assist with patient positioning and draping
Perform post-case cleanup duties including gross decontamination of instruments and following proper transport protocols to Central Sterile Processing
Ensure the surgical suite is disinfected, restocked, and ready for the next procedure
Complete mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements
