Project Leadership & Supervision
- Oversee day-to-day field operations on structured cabling and low voltage system installations.
- Lead and coordinate a team of technicians and apprentices on job sites.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
System Installation & Troubleshooting
- Perform and supervise installation, termination, and testing of CAT5e/CAT6, fiber optic, coaxial, and other low voltage cabling.
- Install and troubleshoot devices and systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, intercoms, and AV equipment.
- Ensure system performance and reliability through testing and certification.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets company and industry standards (e.g., NEC, ANSI/TIA/EIA).
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure job site cleanliness and organization.
Client Communication
- Act as primary on-site point of contact with customers and contractors.
- Provide updates, answer technical questions, and resolve any field issues or concerns.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including as-builts, testing results, and change orders.
- Submit daily progress reports and communicate material or labor needs to project managers.
Team Training & Development
- Mentor and train junior technicians and apprentices in installation practices and safety.
- Conduct quality checks and provide constructive feedback.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Manage job site materials, tools, and equipment inventory.
- Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of test equipment and specialty tools.
Technical Knowledge & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current on low voltage trends, codes, and best practices.
- Recommend improvements to workflows, materials, and installation techniques.
