How You'll Make an Impact in This Role

• Participate as a surgical team member in the preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon's preference cards with appropriate instruments, resources and supplies.
• Position patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
• Implement physician's orders to provide visualization of the operative site using appropriate method, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning and irrigation.
• Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems.
• Utilize appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s): Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred Credential(s): Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room credentialed from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI).

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire
