MISSION OF THE POSITION

The Counter Sales/Warehouse Associate will process and fulfill orders, accept incoming shipments, and oversee the general organization of the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Order Processing

1. Enter purchase order data in the inventory control system that was received through phone sales or incoming requisitions.
2. Pull orders and load them into the customers' vehicles or prepare the shipping paperwork for UPS or LTL shipments.
3. Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred stock, using a forklift.
4. Take inventory or examine stock to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
5. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
6. Verify material is received and supply necessary data to accounting or other appropriate department for payment and recordkeeping.
7. Keep records of incoming and out-going orders, as well as the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.

Jobsite Deliveries

1. Receive and record all deliveries according to policy.
2. Examine and inspect stock items for damages or defects, reporting any damage to a supervisor.
3. Record damaged or defective items and return them to vendors.
4. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, stockrooms, storage yards, or other areas.

Customer Relations

1. Answer customers' questions and advise customers on stock selection.
2. Address complaints related to orders and notify a supervisor of any shipping or receiving issues.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create and issue sales quotes daily.
2. Perform all other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Valid forklift certification required

EXPERIENCE

No prior experience is required, but warehouse, order pulling, or customer service experience is preferred

Basic understanding of warehouse policies and procedures

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
