Role
Senior Mechanical Engineer leading the design and development of analytical instruments for life sciences and diagnostics applications.
Responsibilities
design innovative hardware and accessories, collaborate cross-functionally for product development, support transition to manufacturing, and contribute across early concept, prototype, and field support phases.
Requirements
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7 years or Master's with 3-5 years industry experience; expertise in mechanisms, product design, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, molding, extrusion); proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM; experience in life sciences or diagnostic hardware preferred.
High Value
instrumentation development, complex hardware design, tolerances, rapid prototyping, manufacturability, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Work Setup
primarily on-site in San Jose with up to 5% domestic/international travel.
