Position : Direct Support Professional (aka - DSP, Direct Care Worker, DCW, Direct Support Staff)

Salary: $13- $15per hour - (salary range based on education/experience and assigned location).

Location : Philadelphia County, Montgomery County, Chester and Allentown
Current Positions : Weekdays, and may include weekends

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a qualified individual who enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of others. As a direct care worker you will assist in daily living activities, including health and hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, recreation and documentation which include shift, incident (if applicable) and individual progress reports. On a daily basis, maintain a safe and therapeutic environment that meets the emotional, physical and personal needs of each individual we serve.

• Provide services/supports to individuals
• Assist individuals with developing socialization, meal preparation, and personal hygiene skills.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, personal shopping, and recreation activities.
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships via natural supports.
• Coach individuals with identifying and facilitating volunteer opportunities or paid employment.
• Complete necessary training based on the Individuals needs.
• Accurately completes all in-house documentation and reports of individuals progress
• Administer Medication

Experience:

• Therap Software (Preferred)
• Developing Activity Calendars
• EVV Training (Preferred)
• Logging Progress Notes (Required)
• Medication Log
• ISP Implementation
• Detection, Reporting, Prevention of Abuse, Suspected Abuse and Alleged Abuse
• Individual Rights
• Person-Centered Practices
• Reporting Incidents
• Seizure management: 1 year (Preferred)
• human services: 1 year (Preferred)
• Behavioral Health: 1 year (Preferred)
• Defensive Driver Training Course (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time

Salary: $12.00 to $17.00 /hour

Experience:

• Therap Software: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medication Administration & Medication Log: 1 year (Preferred)
• Working with individuals with intellectual disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)

License:

• Driver's License (Required)
• First Aid and CPR (Preferred)

Schedule:

Duties:

• Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
• Charting or taking notes for others to review
• Providing companionship and supportive listening
• Reporting changes in the health or status of the client
• Taking vitals, height, and weight
• Feeding clients
• Maintaining patients health equipment
• Responding to emergency situations
• Administering medication
• Transporting client to appointments
• Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
• Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
