Jack in the Box – Assistant Manager: Store 3068 Location: Oceanside, CA 92054 • Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 / hour • Full time Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties & Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees. Monitor staffing levels, implement training systems, identify and develop internal candidates for management and Team Leader positions, and manage the “My Promise to You” program. Create a friendly, fun, clean, and safe restaurant environment, motivate employees, and recognize and reward performance. External Service: Manage daily activities for operational excellence, deliver exceptional guest experience, ensure food quality, safety, and brand consistency. Monitor adherence to JIB systems, procedures, and food safety requirements, and address guest concerns promptly and professionally. Higher Profits: Partner with the Restaurant Manager to analyze financial performance, identify trends, execute action plans, and protect the JIB brand. Monitor costs, budget adherence, and restaurant goals. Selection Skills & Qualities Fostering the Culture: Demonstrate passion for Jack in the Box, integrity, trust, and high ethical standards. Assistant Restaurant Manager Core Competencies Guest Focus: Passion for high quality guest experience, consistent service exceeding expectations. Food Quality / Safety: Strong awareness of food quality, safety, and cleanliness, and ability to enforce it. Business Management: Adaptable to multiple demands, make high‑quality decisions, delegate, follow up, and maintain organization. Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent mandatory. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Internal Promote: Minimum 1 year as Shift Leader or 1 year as Assistant Manager in a customer‑service environment, 100% certified in all workstations. External Recruit: Minimum 3 years as Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: At least 18 years old, completed Assistant Manager training, ServSafe certified, English proficiency, strong interpersonal, basic math, analytical, organizational, self‑starter, computer literacy, valid driver’s license, able to drive to other locations. Physical Requirements Stand and walk 85%–95% of shift. Lift 10–65 lbs. Move freely throughout restaurant. Operate restaurant equipment, drive motor vehicle, and use computer keyboard.
