Funeral Director or Intern

Overview Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory, Hollidaysburg, PA. We are a growing family‑owned funeral home and crematory that is seeking a PA Licensed Funeral Director or Intern to serve families of all faiths. Our FD is detail oriented, professional, and capable of performing or learning all aspects of funeral directing. Responsibilities Primary duties include, but are not limited to: executive‑level customer care, at‑need and pre‑need arrangement conferences, conducting funerals, embalming, dressing, cosmetic work, tending visitations, assisting with removals, and completing all necessary paperwork. Complete customer satisfaction is paramount. Prerequisites Pass pre‑employment drug test and periodic testing PA Funeral Director’s license or, for interns, completed National Board exam Professional appearance based on traditional expectations Excellent oral and written communication skills Valid PA driver’s license with a safe and responsible driving record Thorough understanding of PA Funeral Law Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and familiarity with EDRS and database software Ability to do heavy lifting Our FD must be kind, personable, neat, energetic, and a team player. This is a full‑time, long‑term position with above‑average wages, excellent perks, a monthly rotating on‑call schedule offering many weekends and weekdays off, paid con‑ed fees and tuition reimbursement.
