SCHEDULE: THREE 12 HR SHIFTS (9:00AM-9:30PM) M, T, THURSDAY – WITH ROTATIONAL ON-CALL REQUIREMENTS JOB SUMMARY:The Surgical Tech provides direct and indirect services to the surgical patient under the supervision of the professional nurse and performs tasks as necessary for the efficient and effective functioning of the operating room, as well as the delivery of quality of care. Monitors par level of surgical supplies. Maintains the proper functioning of surgical instruments. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments. The staffing of the hospital is based on a teamwork concept. Employees may be cross-trained in other clinical areas and may be expected to perform duties other than their normal ones as staffing and patient needs change.

Required Skills

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of a formal accredited surgical technician-training program. Certified in surgical technology preferred (CST or CORT). Minimum 1 year experience. BLS

LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred. Strong written and verbal skills. SKILLS: Basic computer knowledge. Care and handling of surgical instruments Aseptic technique Principles of Standard Precautions Principles of decontamination and sterilization
