Job Description Job Responsibilities Perform safety checksto ensure road readiness. Follow and maintain loading protocols, using load bars to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips. Perform pre-tripand post-trip. Adhere to traffic safety regulations always, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances, and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to dispatch and highway authorities. Use GPS to stay informed of route information and communicate with dispatch and colleagues using CB radio and cab computer. 53ft Dry Van (Freight-liner - Cascadia) - Automatic Transmission Compensation: $0.60 Mile Generally, OTR is two weeks, home five days or three weeks OTR, and one week home. NO loading or lifting. ELD provided. Easy-pass provided. Team environment: a fun, fast-paced, and supportive company culture. Loads start in Houston, TX, and go to the southern states, mid-west, and northwest; there is no west coast. Requirements What you’ll need: Must be at least 21 years old. Updated medical card (within six months). Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with two years of experience. Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to communicate with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records. No current CDL suspension or revocation. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and good DAC Report. No tickets or accidents in the past three years. Clean background. Must pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen. Ability to learn effectively and operate a GPS. Must be able to use handheld technology and smartphone applications. Ability to scale up to 44,000 pounds. Ability to secure loads with straps. Ability to perform pre and post-trip instructions. Driver cannot do backward loads.
