The Administrative Medical Assistant Float performs all core duties of the Administrative Medical Assistant position while providing flexible coverage for planned and unplanned staffing absences. This position primarily supports approved Paid Time Off (PTO) requests and unscheduled call-outs across the Administrative Medical Assistant team. Because staffing needs can change with little notice, flexibility, adaptability, and strong critical-thinking skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications for Float Role

Candidates applying for the Administrative Medical Assistant Float position must:

• Be fully proficient and effective in all aspects of the Administrative Medical Assistant role.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Admin MA workflows and responsibilities.
• Be able to transition between multiple provider teams with minimal direction.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Exhibit flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Additional Responsibilities of the Administrative Medical Assistant Float

Coverage Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for Administrative Medical Assistants who are on approved PTO or absent due to unscheduled call-outs.
• Be prepared to assume assignments with little advance notice.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy while supporting unfamiliar providers and workflows.

Cross-Team Support

• Provide support to multiple provider teams across both Arizona and Texas locations.
• Understand that each provider and team may have unique workflows, preferences, and priorities.
• Use sound judgment and critical-thinking skills to adapt to the needs of each team being supported.

Proactive Assistance

• On days when all scheduled Admin MAs are working, monitor task volumes and workflow demands.
• Identify boxes or teams requiring additional assistance.
• Proactively contact the Lead Administrative Medical Assistant or Administrative Project Manager to offer support where needed.

Flexibility and Adaptability

• Adjust daily assignments based on operational needs.
• Transition between teams and responsibilities as directed.
• Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever support is needed.

Reporting Structure

The Administrative Medical Assistant Float reports directly to the Administrative Project Manager and works collaboratively with Lead Administrative Medical Assistants to ensure adequate staffing coverage and balanced workloads across all locations.
